Join us for our incredibly popular Christmas Decoration Class at Gipsy Hill Taproom! Working with simple techniques we will teach you how to make your own festive decorations. Available for all ages, we match your family member (suiltable for age 2+) with a ball of clay and coloured slip paints to decorate in the one session!
This class is suitable for all ages and there is something for the entire family.

T’is the season - our annual Festive Decoration Class at Gipsy Hill Taproom is back! Get a posse of friends/family/colleagues together before the Xmas break to get in the spirit! Working with simple but effective techniques we will teach you how to make your own decorations to pop on your tree or gift.
We love a bit of creativity so bring your ideas or we can help you get the ball (or bauble) rolling!
This class is suitable for adults only and but all abilities - from beginner to experienced potter, there will be something for everyone in the group!
Christmas Decoration Family Class

This year, due to popular demand, we are opening the studio for an extra Christmas Decoration Class! We’ll be teaching a range of simple techniques that will allow you to make your own festive decorations. Suitable for all ages, we match your family member (suiltable for age 2+) with a ball of clay and coloured slip paints to decorate in the one session! There is something for the entire family at this class.
Due to limited space in our lovely studio, everyone in the class needs to book a ticket!

Nerd Club ~ Beginner’s Handbuilding Pottery Course
7.30~9pm, Wednesdays 28th January + 4th/11th/18th/25th February
We are back to convening in Nerd Club this January to kick off the year with your new course or expand your passion for ceramics. If you haven’t the foggiest about ceramics and you want you give it a go, this course brings the basics of hand building and forming.
If you have done a course with us or elsewhere, we will be running a self lead group, to dip on some techniques and pick our brains for ideas.
The sessions cover the following ~
Week 1 : Introduction to handbuilding in a casual lecture format covering all the basics, you will receive two types of clay to make pinch pots during the class and keep your hands busy.
Week 2 : Making techniques covering slab building, coiling, slumping.
Week 3 : Decorating techniques covering sgraffito with underglaze, lava glazing and dip glazing.
Week 4+5 : Self lead project where you gather the skills learnt in the previous weeks to make a piece of your own. Using your preferred techniques and getting to get a bit more creative. We will be there to guide and facilitate anything you’d like to make.
